These are called colocasia leaves. They are covered with wax coating that makes them waterproof so you can roll a drop of water on the surface and it will never be absorbed. They are edible and are used to make an Indian snack called "Patra" Two leaves is being poured by water but still cannot absorb and cannot get wet with some red basin filled with water at the ground.
