Sodium explosion grass smokes up with water

Sodium is the sixth most abundant element in the Earth's crust and exists in numerous minerals such as table salt(sodium chloride) and is an essential element for animals and living organisms. however, sodium metal when mixed with water makes a highly exothermic reaction, creating sodium hydroxide and hydrogen gas. Sodium bits were planted in the grass field after the explosion, and as the video shows, it is still reactive when water is applied. The outcome of the reaction is very explosive, flammable, and very basic(basicity) and shall always be taken with serious caution.
