I filmed this shortly after midnight at my university in Linz, Austria when I saw the northern lights in the sky. What an unusual and beautiful view! The green ones are caused by very (!) energetic particles making their way pretty far down the atmosphere, while the red ones are created at a much higher altitude. This was the strongest geomagnetic storm since 2003! When I was looking outside I couldn't believe my eyes and ran back inside to grab my camera, only to run all the way to this spot in front of my university to capture as many pictures as possible.
