This White-eyed Vireo at this bird banding at Ruffner Mountain was not in a hurry to leave this nice mans hand! He just stood contently until he felt ready to fly away. Normally the birds at these bandings (federally permitted to run and educated to conduct) immediately fly away. We do not handle birds long for their own safety, and this guy showed no signs of stress, meaning he realized we didnt mean any harm to him.
