Went camping at Paynetown SRA in Bloomington, IN. There was some bad weather expected and I heard tornado sirens go off so I ran to the lake and got this video
The temperature was 5°f that morning, it's called supercooling. The water is colder than it's freezing point but it's clean and doesn't have any nucleation points for the ice to form. Hitting it triggered the ice to form. Guy in car hits water bottle on steering wheel to make the instant freeze effect.
