2 male anteaters were fighting in the trees. When they fell from the branches to the ground one tried to climb up someone’s leg thinking it was another tree. No one was injured and the anteaters kept fighting.
My husband found an echidna (native to Australia) in our backyard and picked it up with large leather gloves. We had never seen an echidna from underneath before and were all quite charmed!!
We recently rescued a baby pangolin whose mother was killed by hunters. We were able to take care of him for a few days before sending him on to an animal sanctuary in Monrovia. In this clip he is drinking Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and you can see how crazy long his tongue is. In Liberia, this animal is called an "ants bear" because of its diet of ants, and they are heavy hunted for the bush meat trade.
