I went to collect my chicken eggs today and found a soft shell egg! It's gross yet fascinating to touch. Soft shells (or no shells at all) can be due to a chicken learning to lay eggs for the first time (like mine), or a result of a calcium deficiency.
Video shows an egg without a shell. Because we have so many, I see this daily. 3 reasons why this happens, and reason 1 is our farm 1) The hen is too young and her body is not yet ready to produce a hard shell. 2) The hen is not getting enough calcium in her diet. 3)The hen is under too much stress.
Lady records herself hold up a piece of shell-less quail egg on hand due to lack of calcium consumption of the quail. She then picks it up and drops it multiple times on table until it falls on floor, staying intact
"What do you do with all the antler dust?" Submitter records and zooms in on her pet beagle, leaning on table while eating antler dust on it as it reaches for it
These are two videos put together. Both videos contain giant african land snail babies. First video is of Lissachatina Fulica 4 months old babies eating lettuce leaf. Second video is of just hatched Archachatina Marginata eating their egg shells as a first source of calcium that they need for growing their shells. The younger the baby snail is, the more transparent their body is, so in both these videos you can clearly see how the food (the lettuce and egg shells) are going in their mouth and through their head part down the rest of their body.
In this clip you can see me practicing my handshake with Mango my pet lovebird. She is sitting on the door to her home. You can see her grab my finger with her beak because I was shaking to high and she couldn't reach me I thought it was really cute. Originally we trained her to step-up onto our finger but through that training she also learned how to shake hands, which is something I would not expect from a Small Parrot. She is such a character and I really want her to get exposure to other Bird owners to show how amazing pets are. Me and my Mother have been working on a book for Mango, talking about her life and the many lessons we learned from Mango and still learn today she truly is one of a kind. My mom posts about her on her Instagram, and we are also working on a video to display Mango's life. Mangos room was a little messy that day she always chews out pieces of paper for her nest which she lays dozens of unfertilized eggs on. You can see her mirror and calcium chunk on the right and the food and millet she has on her floor. Thank you
