Time lapse of the Aurora Borealis in the night sky
This is a timelapse compilation of the aurora borealis that I saw in Iceland in the first week of September. I had finished a long day of hiking, and had gotten back to my car at 11 PM when I saw everyone pointing to the sky at the northern lights. This was very unexpected for me to see, and I felt really lucky to see them, especially when it wasn't even Fall yet.
*Aurora borealis is used to describe auroras that occur in the Northern hemisphere as opposed to aurora australis which occurs in the Southern hemisphere.
