In Fairbanks it is so cold that we need to plug our cars in to keep the engine coolants warm enough to start. This last week temperature has frequently been in the -30 and -40 (Fahrenheit) range.
This is a magnet to a surface grinding that catches the metal flakes that get ground off. The grinder uses coolant to keep the grinding wheel cool and to flush away the metal flakes. The coolant afterwards runs down to the magnet that separates the metal from the coolant so it can't be recirculated back to spray onto the grinding wheel.
