I recently went to Lanzarote, a small Canary island next to Africa, hiked up to an inactive volcano (Montana Roja), sat down in the middle of the crater, and recorded a super cool & unique drone boomerang. Guy sitting down on the ground flies his drone away from him to show the full view of his surroundings. Guy reveals he is sitting in the middle of a volcano.

This is a particular timelapse. In fact, this is a timelapse of the moon phases. I played the timelapse six times (three in real time and three reversed). I took 24 pictures with an interval roughly around 24 hours from the 14th of February to the 10th of March . I aligned each picture with each other to have a more stable video. Consequently, we can't see the moon's movements during the lunar month. The results is interesting because we can see the moon's craters appearing and disappearing depending of the angle of the sunlight. We can also conclude that the best time to shoot the moon with those craters is at the half-moon and not during the full moon as we might think.

At the eruption in Iceland, the crater gets episodically filled by lava forming a huge lava lake. Within the lake, lava fountains form and lava flows are fed where the lake exits the lake through a breach in the crater wall. Currently, the lake is active for several hours. After that, it drains and there is no activity for several hours until the lake fills up with lava again. Episodes without activity typically last longer than episodes with activity.
