Sunlight filtered pass through butterfly wings window

There was a butterfly on my window drying its wings and I noticed that its wings were filtrating the sunlight like the glasses you can use to watch solar eclipses. I noticed that when its body is aligned with the sun, you can still see the solar disk through its body.
