This is Blue lava coming out from the surface of the earth. It's due to high amounts of sulfur deposits and when the gas comes out of the surface it's turns blue.

I accidentally rediscovered that pseudo carbon black (soot), created by running a glass slide or other surface over a candle flame, is extremely hydrophobic. This is a ~30x image of a 20 microliter droplet of water suspended on the surface. Look at it go! The soot looks white but in person it's actually the blackest substance a typical person will ever see.
