  5. Pet lizard eats its skin shed inside its house01:08

Pet lizard eats its skin shed inside its house

This is a clip of my lizard Darwin who is shedding at the time. Lizards usually eat their shed for nutrients and in my opinion this a great clip of her. She was in her tank at the time and that is why the light is red it’s her night time heat lamp. I filmed through the glass so it looks a little fuzzy at times but I don’t know how much editing can help. I thought it was interesting and possibly good enough to put on the channel! Thanks so much and keep up the great work I love watching your videos!

  6. Water on the beach glows up at night00:31

Water on the beach glows up at night

G’day mate, love your videos. This was filmed on a calm summer night in southern Tasmania. What you are seeing is strong bioluminescence caused by a dinoflagellate species, Noctiluca scintillans. The bioluminescence is triggered by mechanical stress on the cellular membrane, hence the bright flashes as we wade through the water. The biochemistry is fairly complex, but as I understand it, essentially an enzyme called luciferase interacts with the molecule lucifern in the presence of oxygen, emitting a photon. The phenomenon was particularly powerful tonight due to a combination of still conditions, warm water, and an influx of nutrients to the water body from recent rain. I apologise for the hectic audio - my housemates were enjoying themselves. Cheers from Australia

  7. Orange snake swallows quail egg whole 00:40

Orange snake swallows quail egg whole

Kenya. An Egg-eating snake engulfing a quale egg in a matter of seconds. These Egg-eaters are among some of the most harmless snakes in the world as they have no teeth whatsoever as their only diet is eggs. These snakes have a very unique way of eating and digesting their food. Egg eaters will go into bird nests and find eggs. Once they have eaten an egg the snake uses a serrated edge on their spine to break the shell. Once the nutrients is ingested the snake regurgitates the egg shell in a compressed pellet shape. Orange snake in the tree branch swallows the white egg whole.
