subway train worker between two running trains
#tbt When i used to risk life and limb everyday to keep the people of NYC moving. Imagine coming into work and doing this... every. single. day. Said I wasnt gonna go on a rant but since im never going back to MTA ill open my mouth. Worked here for almost 4 years and i probably completely halted train traffic maybe 2 or 3 times to perform work. Every minute counts right? Track workers put their life at risk working between live train traffic and energized third rails... only slowing them down as they approach us.. in snow storms feeling around with a stick so we dont walk into a live third rail. Walking and crossing elevated tracks which you can easily fall through.. trying to maintain an old failing infastructure which caused a fellow coworker ( 23 year old kid ) to die. Theres no reason why we should be working on structures with rotting wood beneath our feet.. broken handrails .. and all types of avoidable hazards that are due to poor maintenance. Then ontop of that when we get hurt or killed the worker is ALWAYS at fault. No funeral bells.. no recognition.. no ceremony .. no respect .. instead you have #bloomberg calling us "thugs" when we want a raise and turn the public against the workers instead of the real problem which is management and the politicians. #DEBLASIO wya? #CUOMO wya? We need change.
