Golden gyroscopic spinner spins with a paper cube on the table
This is a gyroscopic spinner inside a paper cube that is balancing on a stand. I've made the paper cube and recorded the fascinating gravity defying motion of the structure. It is a nice scientific toy that can be bought on the web!
You can see the spinning gyroscope in the second clip (which has been slowed down). The spinner works according to the principle of angular momentum, and its properties of maintaining its orientation and angular velocity are used in many objects, varying from navigation systems (such as motorcycles, ships and even The James Webb telescope) to technological devices (such as laptops and phones on the smaller scale).
