Formation of sand emerges from the surface near the docks
I believe this is a spring that feeds a lake in my hometown. It has built up a volcano looking mound under the water throughout the summer. Jeremy Smith, a 43-year-old manual laborer from Aberdeen, SD, provides details about a unique natural phenomenon he filmed. The footage was captured on September 6th, 2022, at Wylie Lake in Aberdeen, SD. The phenomenon, which Jeremy speculates might be one of the natural underground springs feeding Wylie Lake, appears to bring sediment to the surface, forming an intriguing shape. Though Jeremy is unsure of the exact nature of the phenomenon, he believes it is related to sediment from these underground springs. The object in question measures approximately 5 feet across in the video. It began as a small depression on the lakebed at the start of summer, gradually expanding to around 10 feet. Jeremy has documented its progress with various footage throughout the summer. Prior to this, Jeremy had not seen anything like it before. He finds it fascinating and regularly checks its development whenever he visits the lake to feed the fish.
