Did you know snakes could swim like this? I didn't! This video shows a large California King Snake swimming very quickly across a pond and moving from the water onto the land. The snake's coloring and pattern, the speed, and the way it moves across the surface of the water is very cool--and a little creepy!

I work out in the oilfields and notice a frightened Western Diamondback Rattlesnake keeping it’s distance from me but never loosing sight of me as it retreated and rattling its rattlers full speed. I love nature and the snake was never harmed.
So my friend thought that getting a cat and a snake was a good idea…
