On December 21, 2024, the winter solstice and China’s early New Year, I saw an eagle perched on my air conditioner frame as New York’s first snow fell. Its gaze felt profound, as if it chose this special day to visit. When it flew off into the snowy sky, I felt incredibly lucky, reminded to treasure life’s fleeting, magical moments.
I started photographing sunsets from the window of my apartment to discover where the summer and winter solstices were on the horizon. So, I photographed 231 twilights to capture the sun's movement over an entire year (specifically 367 days). I began casually and quite amateurishly, using just my phone without even a tripod for support. Over time, I realized it would be really cool to compile a timelapse video from the sequence of photos I had gathered. I hope you enjoy it; I think the final result turned out quite nice. I added some copyright-free music from uppbeat; I'm not sure if that's a problem here on YouTube, as I don't know much about it, but I hope I can share my work with people. Hugs from Brazil! Rafael.
