Hornet hoverfly on leaf wipe its legs

From afar I first thought this was a hornet but once I got closer it looked like a fly. It is a Hornet hoverfly. (Volucella Zonaria) They mimic hornet's to be safe from predators and even lay their eggs in hornet's nests. Hornet hoverfly on leaf looks like its wiping its front legs.
