After a huge deep freeze in western North Carolina (asheville area) this two foot long fish was frozen in a lake so quickly, he didn’t get to dive down deeper where the water is still liquid. So he’s frozen in place but still able to move his fins a bit. He should unthaw today as the weather is warming up.

I was staying in a hotel and had allot of household items from an estate with me to take on a flight. At 6am I heard an alarm and looked in the hall but saw nothing. Moments later I noticed the carpet was quite wet in front of the door. I opened it and water flooded in like a tidal wave. I had to quickly throw my belongings onto the beds, but allot still got wet. A water pipe had burst in the hotel. The city didn’t show up until 2 hours later to fix it. By the time I got all my stuff out, the water was knee deep (above electrical outlets). It was a total nightmare. The hotel was Super 8 on Victoria Ave East in Regina Saskatchewan Canada.

I was on a casual hike with my dog on one of our usual trails, when I kept hearing groaning coming from down in the water (or where the water used to be and is now mud). After walking around a hill I could finally see something in the mud but it took getting to the edge of the tree line to realize it was a person scooting through the mud. I was shocked, he was standing neck deep in the mud when I first spotted him but eventually pulled himself out onto him back. After watching for a moment, I yelled to him and asked if he was okay or needed help, to which he answer No! Im fine, I was just looking for fishing lures and it was a little muddy. This video was recorded on Wednesday (July 24, 2024) in Philippines during Typhoon Carina (Gaemi). We were stranded for about 3 or 4 times and I have no option to stay with my boyfriend. Since we still need to report to work, we need to document or provided videos and pictures to show how bad the situation at our places. But unfortunately and unexpectedly, there's a frog (I'm not sure what the exact species) trying to get out of the place. My boyfriend pointed it out and for a few seconds, I was just calmly watching it but then the frog decided to swim towards me and since it was the first time I actually seen an adult one and it was huge for me. Thank God I was not the far and he manage to redirect the frog's direction. The frog was not harmed and my boyfriend just used my umbrella to put a wall between us so that it will swim towards another direction. This was very unexpected and I find it funny that I can be this feminine and scared. Definitely one of my new unforgettable experience in life.
