    I was filming a lightning storm from my back porch and as soon as I let go of the door handle, lightning struck 6 ft above my head and hit my house and fried every outlet on that wall. And another one struck a metal clothes line about 30 ft in front of me consecutively. The sound was so blasting it terrified me. The adrenaline I felt was so crazy I couldn't relax for 4 hours. When my family got home I showed the video and they all busted out laughing because of my scream and I was like, I almost just died! Lol I thank the Lord I'm alive!

    We are long-time viewers, and we live on a sailboat. We see many beautiful things, and I've wondered if I'd ever capture some and send them your way. Then, this pod of dolphins came alongside our sailboat in early December, as we journeyed south for the winter: Above the waves: https://youtu.be/TIiK7KbbHYg Below the waves: https://youtu.be/LYCa1ogCp80 They stayed with us for a good hour! It was amazing to see how effortlessly they stayed ahead of us. I bet together they could have towed us if we'd given them a line. 🐬 ⛵️ 🌊 (In actuality, they are surfing on the bow wave from our boat). It turns out they actually came to tell us to look at the bottom of our keel. We'd hit something in the murky waterway, and they reminded us to use the clear water to take a look (we were several miles out from the coast when they joined us). So, we hauled out at a boatyard in Charleston for the repairs and enjoyed the holidays at home with family. Resident of an apartment went into the parking garage with a uhaul trailer and hit the fire sprinkler line water pipe, the pipe broke and water hit submitters car directly and the pressure of the water cracked open the cars windshield

    Dear Daily Dose of Internet, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share with you how I was able to capture an incredible star trails video from my own backyard. Firstly, I made sure that I had the right equipment. I used a sturdy tripod to keep my camera steady, and a wide-angle lens to capture as much of the sky as possible. I also made sure to fully charge my camera battery and bring extra memory cards. Once I was set up, I used a remote shutter release to minimize any shake when pressing the button. I set my camera to manual mode and adjusted the settings for a long exposure time (around 30 seconds) and a low aperture (around f/2.8). I then set the camera to take continuous shots for several hours. To prevent any interruption or disturbance, I turned off all outdoor lights, and even put a black cloth over my camera to block any light from nearby streetlights. After several hours of shooting, I used specialized software to combine all of the individual shots into a single video. The result was a mesmerizing time-lapse video of the star trails as they moved across the sky. Overall, capturing star trails was a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience, and I hope that my story can inspire others to try it themselves. Best regards, Ashutosh Singhal
