pipe relining is an innovative way to repair cracked or broken pipes from the inside out while keeping underground pipes intact. Although below-ground pipes are sheltered from the elements, they are susceptible to damage caused by invasive tree roots, debris, high pressure, blockages, cold weather and poor installation. 03/07/2024We are long-time viewers, and we live on a sailboat. We see many beautiful things, and I've wondered if I'd ever capture some and send them your way. Then, this pod of dolphins came alongside our sailboat in early December, as we journeyed south for the winter: Above the waves: https://youtu.be/TIiK7KbbHYg Below the waves: https://youtu.be/LYCa1ogCp80 They stayed with us for a good hour! It was amazing to see how effortlessly they stayed ahead of us. I bet together they could have towed us if we'd given them a line. 🐬 ⛵️ 🌊 (In actuality, they are surfing on the bow wave from our boat). It turns out they actually came to tell us to look at the bottom of our keel. We'd hit something in the murky waterway, and they reminded us to use the clear water to take a look (we were several miles out from the coast when they joined us). So, we hauled out at a boatyard in Charleston for the repairs and enjoyed the holidays at home with family. For the curious, this was our haul-out footage, where you can see the damage: https://youtu.be/eheJSrfEQWw You may use this footage as well if you wish, though I presume the internet's interest will be with our dolphin friends, not our mechanical issues 😀. If you do, please obscure any identifying marks (e.g. the name of the boat). That said, the repairs for this are quite expensive, so if you feature my clip, you know where any royalties I may recieve will be going. God bless you.
01/18/2024A truck came into the repair shop with possible the slowest idle ever.1997 GMC Tahoe with a very slow idle. It seems the car engine stops moving, even turning backwards before firing the next cylinder. The cause of this was the distributor was installed two teeth behind (retarded) causing the combustion to ignite when the piston was already halfway through the power stroke. It produced just enough force to get the next piston to repeat the process. Male mechanics laugh at how truck engine idles so slow as if it is breathing heavily, then checks monitor to see the measurements of its strobing

09/01/2023Sleeping over at an abandoned gold mine on a Canadian mountain. We explored every building and even the abandoned mine. History: The Mascot Gold Mine was in operation from 1936 to 1949. 7.1 tones of gold was extracted from the mascot mine. That is over 400 million dollars in today's market. 130 men worked the Mascot Gold Mine. Each man made approx $4.75 per day. Many of the men actually lived and passed away at the mine site. After shutting down in 1949 the site was abandoned for many years after. In the 1990s, the insurers for the mascot mine property was concerned that visitors to the site could lodge liability claims for personal injuries. They wanted the mascot mine to be burnt down. This plan did not go through thankfully. In 1995 the Upper Similkameen Indian band re-roofed several buildings to help preserve them. The province then bought the mine site for $740,000. They also fixed and stabilized the structures over the following years. In 2003 the province provided $300,000 to retrofit the site for tourism. The wooden structures included former dormitories, a cookhouse and machine sheds. In 2004 the mascot mine site opened for tours. It later closed for tours in 2017. The buildings clearly needed more repairs and attention for the structures to last. In 2021 The province gave a grant of $800,000 and they plan to reopen for tours in 2023 after many repairs and upgrades have been completed.
